Female DJ in New York City
Daniela StarCat is a New York DJ and producer, founder of the all-female talent platform Her Name Is Shakti, and the woman behind Deep Playa NYC’s 50+ events. Booked by women-led brands, festivals, retreats and anyone building a lineup that looks like the dance floor.
Building rooms for women in music
Daniela StarCat created Her Name Is Shakti, an all-female talent platform, to put more women behind the decks and on the lineup, with events that celebrate women DJs and the dance floors they build.
She founded Deep Playa NYC in 2020 and produced and DJed more than 50 events for 300 to 1,200 people, then spent four years as music director, stage designer and headlining DJ at CAMP Festival. She also leads women’s retreats, including the Goddess Gathering Retreat.
