House music DJ in New York City
Melodic, progressive, deep, Latin and afro house, with acid and techno after dark. Daniela StarCat is a New York DJ raised on Twilo, Sound Factory and the Loft, now playing Brooklyn’s clubs and open-air stages.
Raised on New York house
Daniela StarCat learned the architecture of dance music on the floors of Limelight, Twilo, Sound Factory, The Tunnel, Vinyl and David Mancuso’s Loft. She learned to DJ on vinyl while working at Satellite Records in Manhattan, then the largest independent dance music record store in the US.
Her foundation comes from New York legends like Danny Tenaglia, alongside the long-form storytelling of Sasha, John Digweed and Deep Dish. Today she plays emotionally driven journeys that move a room through tension and release, and as a producer she gives older classics new life with updated basslines.
